Charles directs his many years of education, heathcare and expertise toward helping past, current and future clients through his company, Remain Home. Remain Home LLC., provides products, services and expertise designed to make a home accessible, safe and functional for those who have limited mobility or simply desire to make their living environment meet their changing needs as they age. In addition, Charles is an adjunct faculty member at University of Louisiana Lafayette lecturing in the Master of Business Administration Program. Charles currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Acadiana Better Business Bureau.
Charles has a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Arkansas and holds a Graduate Specialist Certification in Aging from the Department of Applied Gerontology at the University of North Texas and completed a one-year program in Geriatrics and Gerontology at the University of Texas Medical School.
He is a Certified Aging in Place Specialist, (CAPS), and was licensed as a Nursing Facility Administrator in the State of Louisiana. Dr. Landry has 35 years of experience in the healthcare industry. He has served as a chief executive officer in metropolitan, urban and rural community hospitals and also has experience as a senior-level officer in a large healthcare system.
He has also been on the faculty of the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston, a special member of the graduate faculty of the University of Texas Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences at Galveston, and adjunct faculty member at Texas A&M University at Galveston, an Associate Professor with Our Lady of the Lake University's MBA program in healthcare administration and a member of the faculty of the University of Houston Clear Lake, lecturing in the Masters of Healthcare Administration program. Charles was also a faculty member in the finance department of the School of Business at the University of South Florida.
Dr. Landry served as State President for AARP Louisiana from 2008 to 2010, and was a member of the Leadership Committee of the Coalition for Choice, an AARP sponsored organization working to advance the quality and modernization of Louisiana's long term care system. He also served as a member of the Board of Alzheimer's Association - Southern Region and as a board member of the Council on Aging for Vermilion Parish. Charles was selected by the Louisiana State Senators and State Representatives from Region 4 (parishes of St. Martin, Iberia, Lafayette, Acadia, St. Landry, Vermilion and Evangeline) to serve on the Region 4 healthcare consortium and chaired the long term care committee (Nov. 2004).
In December 2008, Dr. Landry's company, Mobility Products Depot, was given the Business Champion Award by the Louisiana Assistive Technology Access Network in recognition of his business commitment to increase access to assistive technology and make services accessible to all.
